The rain caused various rock collapses, forcing authorities to block the Aqaba. Rocks and mud also fell on Aqaba Dila, the main road between Asir and Jazan regions.
Spokesman of the Civil Defense Lt. Col. Muhammad Al-Asmi said the rain, which fell on Wednesday, caused a citizen’s house in the district of Hussam in Khamis Mushait to flood. He said the Civil Defense called the municipality, which then pumped the water out of the house.
The spokesman also said the Civil Defense rescued a car belonging to a citizen in Al-Mirouj district in Abha. He added that the citizen and other people with him was already safely out of the car.
Al-Asmi described the rainfall as medium and said it had caused 13 valleys to flood. He said no deaths were reported.
