PIS-Alkhobar, where classes are taught in English, is among the oldest institutions in the region. It was established 46 years ago by then-prominent Pakistani businessman Malik Abbas. It was started with a handful of children and has since grown into an institution with nearly 5,000 students.
The Eastern Province has a sizable population of Pakistani expatriates, many of whom are employed with some of the best Saudi educational and research institutions and business establishments.
