Jamia Nizamia free Qur’an coaching attracts 300 children

They have been running this program since 1997. This year the program has attracted up to 300 boys and girls. Al-Atiaf School in Al-Azizia district has offered its premises for the classes that are held from 7 to 10 p.m.
Nearly 20 graduates of Jamia Nizamia are giving lessons in the proper recitation of the Holy Qur’an, memorization of verses of the Hadith and practical application of prayers and ablution.
Quizzes based on the general knowledge of Islamic history is also part of the coaching.
On Wednesday, a speech competition in Urdu and English was held in which children spoke on a variety of topics, including the importance of acquiring knowledge, studying science to the benefits of prayer to duties toward parents.
Founded 139 years ago, Jamia Nizamia is the oldest Islamic residential University of South India. Its degrees are recognized by prestigious institutions like Jamia Azher of Egypt, Jamia Ummul Qura of Makkah, Jamia Islamia of Madinah, the Osmania University of Hyderabad and the Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh.
Besides summer classes, the alumni of the Jamia run free
Qur’an classes in the evening round the year at Jamjoom Building in Al-Azizia.
The alumni, generally private Qur’an tutors, manage the classes despite their
limited resources.
