"A beam upset a crane and fell on some previously installed beams at the site of the Holy Sites rail that is connected to the fifth floor of the Al-Jamrat Bridge on Wednesday. The accident happened without causing any loss of life to the workers or materials," under-secretary in the ministry and head of the centralized administration for developmental projects Habib Zainul Abideen said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency on Friday.
"The affected beams will be replaced and the works will be completed such that the pedestrian passage would be ready for use for pilgrims this Haj season," he said.
Such accidents are not unexpected while undertaking huge projects like this but it will by no means affect the progress of the project, he said.
