The order follows a series of previous orders from the Ministry of Municipalities and Rural Affairs and a direct order from Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Prince Naif banning the use of tents for businesses.
Prince Naif had issued an order limiting the use of tents as some types are susceptible to fire.
The municipality did not point to one particular brand of tents. It, however, said that some tents currently sold in the market for events such as weddings, exhibitions and social gatherings are highly inflammable and therefore dangerous.
