Security has been assured to the Color Television Network
which is telecasting the reality show.
Thackeray had threatened that the Sena would halt the
shooting of the reality show and intensify agitation unless the two Pakistani
artists and the former lawyer of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack convict Mohammed
Ajmal Amir Kasab are removed from the show.
The state Home Minister R.R. Patil said Friday that security
has been beefed up at the “Bigg Boss” house in Lonavala, after Sena workers had
protested outside the house on Tuesday.
Additional security would be provided at the site of the
show’s shoots, Patil added.
Earlier, Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan too assured
that the government would maintain law and order and not allow the reality show
to be disrupted. “The government would take stern action against those who try
to disturb law and order,” he said.
In response to the government’s action, the working
president of Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray lambasted the chief minister at a press
conference in Aurangabad.
Uddhav said that the chief minister as behaving as if he was
the chief minister of some Pakistani province. Chavan, Uddhav said, has
forgotten that he is the chief minister of Maharashtra. Coming down heavily on
Chavan, Uddhav said first Chavan provided protection to actor Shah Rukh Khan’s
Hindi film ‘My Name is Khan’, and now he has announced that security would be
provide to the two Pakistani artists participating in the reality show “Big
Boss.”
Criticizing Chavan, the Sena leader said that the chief
minister was least concerned about the common men and the police, and did not
care if these people lived or died, but he is more concerned about the
protection of the Pakistani artists, Uddhav said.
In a remark laced with humor, Uddhav said that the recent
remarks of former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf might have made Chavan
happy. Now he should tell Musharraf to dispatch all terrorists to India and
assure Musharraf that he would take care of them just like he took care of
Kasab.
