Burke, who had
been due to perform at an Amsterdam club on Tuesday, died after arrival at the
Amsterdam airport from Los Angeles, Dutch public broadcaster NOS said. A
Schiphol airport spokeswoman in Amsterdam confirmed that Burke had died, but
could not provide further details. She directed all further inquiries to
Burke's management. Known as the King of Rock & Soul, Burke was a preacher
turned singer and had released his latest album "Nothing's
Impossible" in April.
