Thackeray earlier launched his son Uddhav and his estranged son Raj, president of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) into politics. Making a personal appearance despite his illness at the Dussehra rally after for the first time in two years, Thackeray launched Aditya into politics by formally naming him the president of the Youth Sena, an outfit aimed at attracting youth.
In his usual style of defying government orders, Thackeray violated the noise level order issued by the police for the rally and the order of the Bombay High Court allowing permission for the Sena to hold the rally. Mocking the order of the court and police Thackeray said: "Our roar at the Shivaji Park will not fit into 50 decibels. Your machines to measure the sound will break, but our voices will not break."
Refusing to accept the fact that he was seriously sick, Thackeray said that he was fully fit and can travel to any part of Maharashtra to deliver speeches.
"Those who think and say that I am sick and tired are stupid."
