They said that when Raj did not even have the power to nominate a municipal councilor how could he recommend and nominate Uddhav Thackeray, his cousin and son of Thackeray to the post of working president of the Sena. They said that it was Thackeray himself who desired to nominate Uddhav to the post.
In his speech Thackeray had said: “Don’t accuse me of having dynasty rule in the Sena. It was the wish and desire of Raj to nominate Uddhav to the post of working president of the Sena, and it was Raj who had himself proposed Uddhav for the post. Even though Raj did not comment on the remarks of Thackeray, he, on Monday used his supporters to attack Thackeray and criticized his remarks against Raj.
Raj supporters said that it was a fact that recommendations made by Raj for the posts of Sena unit chiefs or municipal councilors were brushed aside deliberately. Due to this and other factors which caused humiliation and embarrassment, Raj had to quit the Sena. Therefore there is no substance or truth in Thackeray’s statement that Raj was instrumental in installing Uddhav as the working president of the Sena.
“The decision to nominate Uddhav as the working president of the Sena was the decision of Thackeray himself. And it is natural for Raj to be offended for being sidelined and ignored. Raj was alleged by Thackeray to have become an obstacle in the smooth transfer of power from Thackeray to Uddhav” a top MNS leader said, adding that reading the mind of Thackeray and his problems, Raj had no option but to propose the name of Uddhav for the working president post.
Few months after Uddhav took over the reins of the working president of Sena, Raj had said that he was himself to be blamed for axing his own feet by proposing the name of Uddhav for the post.
Meanwhile, Thackeray launched attack on federal Home Minister P. Chidambaram and federal Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar. Thackeray said “Chidambaram talked about the saffron terror but he is blind to green terror. He can only see saffron terror, but he will soon realize that saffron terror is not affordable.”
Attacking Pawar, Thackeray said: “When people are dying due to hunger, liquor is being manufactured from food grains. This is the good work of Pawar.”
Speaking on his opposition to the participation of two Pakistani artists in the "Big Boss” reality show on Colors TV, Thackeray said: “Don’t we have good artists in our country? If required call me to the show, and I will sing two or four good songs, if not, I will sing the Hindu patriotic song Vande Mataram or the national anthem Jana Gana Mana,” Thackeray said sarcastically.
