Bayern was up 2-1 at halftime despite striking the framework
three times, including a penalty by Bastian Schweinsteiger just before the
break. But Gladbach scored two goals within four minutes to take the lead,
before Lahm slotted in the equalizer in the 84th.
Fanis Gekas scored twice for Frankfurt, which is undefeated
in the last six games and has 19 points. With Mainz and Hoffenheim both losing,
Bayern missed a chance to jump up the standings. Bayern is ninth in the league
with 16 points from 11 rounds.
Second-place Mainz fell 1-0 at Freiburg for its fourth loss
in the last five games, including the German Cup defeat at second division
Alemannia Aachen.
Hoffenheim is fourth with 18 points after losing 2-1 at
fifth-place Hamburg, which got the winner through Mladen Petric in the 83rd
minute.
Nuremberg also has 18 points after a 3-1 win at home over
Cologne. Leader Borussia Dortmund plays Sunday at Hannover Gladbach took the
lead in the fifth minute on a mistake by Bayern keeper Hans Joerg Butt, who
misplayed a ball from the right side by Patrick Herrmann which went over his
reach and into the net.
Bayern tied the game just six minutes later through a header
by Mario Gomez, who has scored nine goals in his last seven games. Munich
dominated possession and twice missed a chance to grab the lead with Bastian
Schweinsteiger heading off the crossbar in the 30th and Toni Kroos also hitting
the bar six minutes later.
Schweinsteiger grabbed his goal in the 40th and could have
added a second before the break, but the Germany international struck his
penalty against the base of the right post in the 43rd.
Gladbach made Bayern pay for its ineffectiveness and
equalized in the 56th. Munich lost the ball in midfield and Raul Bobadilla
passed forward to Marco Reus, who beat Butt from the edge of the area.
Gladbach then grabbed the lead again in the 61st after Igor
de Camargo beat Butt with a shot through the legs.
Bayern pushed forward and finally leveled the game again
when Lahm picked up a deflected pass and slotted into the top corner.
