Khan, who briefly spoke about the rich and diverse cultural traditions of Pakistan, said the Indus Valley and Gandhara civilizations enriched these traditions in their own ways.
"Islam gave a new direction to local arts and crafts, which is most prominently visible in medieval and modern architecture and literature as well as customs and handicrafts of the country," she added. Participants expressed deep interest in the Pakistan’s cultural heritage and appreciated copies of the work of Pakistan's painter Abdurrehman Chughtai.
