The captain of the ship, Strofades IV, and an official from the shipowning company are being held overnight and face abduction charges, judicial authorities said Sunday.
They will appear before an examining magistrate Monday.
The Greek-owned cargo ship broke its moorings at the Libyan port of Derna amid a chartering dispute on Wednesday and arrived at Piraeus Friday, with the aid workers — seven Britons, two Irish nationals and an Algerian — and the Libyan officials on board.
