During the visit, HRC President Bandar Al-Iban pointed out that an estimated 80 percent of the hospital's patients are victims of traffic accidents, and most of them are young.
Upon concluding the visit, Al-Iban called for a better commitment to enforcing traffic regulations.
He stressed the importance of cooperation between traffic departments, courts and hospitals to discuss the possibility of ordering violators of traffic regulations, such as those who run red lights or speed, to do community service in hospitals so that they will get a chance to observe the sufferings of those who have been injured in road accidents.
