Police said the suspect attempted to escape and resisted arrest.
“The suspect was involved in selling used vehicles that did not belong to him. He used to make false claims to victims that he owned these vehicles or is responsible for them without proof,” said Col. Misfer Al-Juaid, spokesman for Jeddah police. “Two of the his victims came forward to the police and admitted buying vehicles from the suspect. There were also four other unsold vehicles confiscated from the front of his house.”
Meanwhile, a 55-year-old Sudanese doorkeeper was arrested in Al-Rehab district on suspicion of stealing steel cables from a Syrian factory owner late in the evening. The owner discovered the missing stolen cables and contacted the police.
