Saudi schools have already suspended classes for two weeks in expectation of more rains. The International Indian School, Jeddah (IISJ) said on Saturday that it would remain closed throughout the week.
“IISJ will remain closed till Jan. 31 for classes IX-XII and till Feb. 2 for KG to Class VIII for maintenance work,” said Syed Masood Ahmed, the school principal. Regular classes for IX-XII grades will resume on Feb. 1 while for KG-VIII on Feb. 5, he added.
However, CBSE practical examination for Grade XII will be conducted as per schedule from Jan. 30. “The board practical examination that was to be conducted on Jan. 29 has been re-scheduled to Feb. 6 (for boys) and Feb. 16 for girls,” Ahmed said.
Buds and Blossoms International School said it would close this week for maintenance and would reopen on Saturday. Dauha Al-Uloom International School and Al-Waha International School said they would remain closed on Sunday.
