Bordone initially conducted a two-day workshop in Oman in March of 2010 at the invitation of and in conjunction with the newly established Muscat-based SASLO Legal Training Center (SLTC).
Ambassador Richard L. Baltimore III (retired), SLTC principal, noted that everyone negotiates on a daily basis, whether in business, academia, banking or in the public sector.
This is done both formally and informally and includes issues such as prices, warranties, resources, higher wages and for increased organizational support.  The SLTC principal pointed out that although we all do it, few of us take the time to focus on the actual negotiation process to increase our effectiveness.
Bordone's interactive, highly engaging and forthright style provides both theoretical and practical insights into the negotiation process that proved very popular among all participants, the majority of whom were not lawyers.  Previous attendees have come from both the private and public sectors as well as from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, Bahrain and Kenya.
On March 12 in Muscat, Professor Bordone will conduct a one-day negotiations workshop for senior executives. On March 15 and 16, he will hold the popular full two-day negotiations workshop for a third time.
Bordone's engaging style has received accolades back in Cambridge as well. The Harvard Law School class of 2007 selected him to for the prestigious Albert Sachs-Paul Freund Award during the first year Bordone was eligible to receive it. This award is given by graduating classes in recognition of the Harvard Law School professor who best represents excellence in teaching, attentiveness to student concerns, and for general contributions to the quality of student life.
