The minimum requirement for a balanced human relationship is that the reward should be in tandem with the exerted effort. In the real world, however, the situation is not that idealistic.
It is socially unjust that the stronger party in a mutual relationship should obtain much more than he or she has actually earned. Social responsibility makes it imperative on the stronger to do more for the weaker so as to achieve the balance and harmony in society.
To attain this level of social responsibility, no party should expect any favors. This should be the responsibility of both the stronger and the weaker members of society. The jumping point always starts from self-respect through deciding the treatment each of the two parties in the relationship deserves.
I am almost certain that no one of us is safe from receiving unequal treatment at one point or other. We are either subjected to injustice or we are not fair to others. The simple commercial transaction we do every day is an example of the mutual relationship. Who of us has not been treated with less decency in a restaurant where the service provided to us was not above the level of that given to animals? The reason for this is that we do not know our rights or we are unable to express ourselves explicitly and in a civilized manner. It is not necessary to prove that you are right; you should prove the other wrong. The behavior of the other may be spontaneous and not deliberate.
The civilized manner to express righteousness is that one of the parties should have the sincere intention of reaching a common ground with the other for mutual benefits. One party offers money to obtain a service that is equal in value. Without this balance, the standard of the service will be lower and the price higher.
The summary is that if we do not develop our style in expressing dissatisfaction in a civilized manner when the mutual relations between two parties become shaky, we will never reach the required balance that ensures the development of society. Without this balance the stronger parties will perish before the weaker ones. However, the deteriorating standard of service will never allow us to catch up with the world and will keep us backward for many centuries.
