A number of people have been arrested following complaints from three Saudis whose trucks were targeted. The owners said they suspect other sponsors and their expatriate workers are behind the attacks.
The owners have accused those responsible of plotting to kill them as spent bullets were found in the door of the trucks’ sleeping compartments. They also said they were lucky that they were not present when the shots were fired.
The owners think they were targeted because their attackers do not want to see Saudization in the tow truck business. Lt. Col. Abdul Aziz Al-Zenaidi, spokesman for Hail police, said investigations are under way.
