Shoura chief expects Romania visit to bolster ties

Al-Asheikh will be accompanied by council members Saleh Al- Zahrani, Abdullah Al-Askar, Abdul Rahman Al-Enadh and Fahad Al-Anezi. During the visit, Al-Asheikh is slated to meet Romanian President Traian Basescu, Prime Minister Emil Boc and other government officials.
The chairman pointed out that the talks between the Shoura delegation and Romanian officials will focus on improving bilateral relations in political, economic, trade cultural, recreational  and academic areas for the mutual interests  of the two countries.
Al-Asheikh said the two countries are aware of the fact that bilateral relations could be expanded into several new areas depending on the growing needs of the two countries.
"The forthcoming visit would help the two countries to identify new areas of cooperation that would benefit the Kingdom and Romania, " he noted.
He said that discussions will also concentrate on removing the present obstacles that impede the inflow of trade and investment between Romania and Saudi Arabia.
The chairman also indicated that during his meeting with the senators, he would stress on improving the parliamentary relations between the two countries. He said the Saudi-Romanian Parliamentary Friendship Committee is keen on widening its areas of cooperation to promote bilateral interests.
