The joint venture includes the creation of EDF Saudi Arabia in Riyadh and Alkhobar, which will work and operate in generation, transmission and distribution of electrical power in Saudi Arabia.
The agreement was signed by Prince Bander bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Kabeer, president and CEO of Soroof International, and Guillaume De Forceville, EDF France group’s deputy director and manager, in the presence of the general board members.
Prince Bander said the signing of the joint venture agreement between the two companies would reflect the ongoing development of electrical power generation and transmission across the Kingdom.
“Moreover, it would enhance and advance the position of Soroof International Company among the power generation companies working in the Kingdom,” he said, adding that Soroof International is one of the major Saudi companies working in the field of electrical power, water desalination and treatment, oil and gas services, and systems programming and planning for future development with new strategies.
