The Jeddah chapter of the Muslim Educational Society and the Saudi-Indian Football Forum organized two separate farewells for him and commended his contributions to the community.
Moopan arrived in Jeddah in 1983 and worked at King Fahd Hospital until 2004 when he joined Al-Abeer Medical Group as its general director. He initiated the formation of a number of cultural and educational organizations in the city.
He was elected twice as MES president and under his leadership the organization introduced the family welfare, career guidance and educational awareness programs, helping a large number of people in Jeddah and back home in Kerala.
M.D. Moorthi, welfare consul at Indian Consulate General in Jeddah, presented the MES Award to Moopan in the presence of its president T.P. Ahmed and senior officials including Pappatta Kunhimuhammad, C.P. Saleem, P.A. Abdul Rahman and K.P. Abdussalam. General Secretary E.P. Ubaidullah welcomed the guests.
Addressing the farewell meeting hosted by SIFF, Moopan commended the organization's efforts in promoting football among the Keralite community in Jeddah. Vallanchira Muhammad Ali presented a memento to Moopan. A number of community leaders, including V.P. Muhammad Ali, Salah Karadan, Musafir, OPK Kutty and Usman Irumpuzhi spoke.
