This will be the second year the event is held, this year on May 16-18.
The JCCI said the step was aimed at adopting a strategy against artificial goods and strengthening the rules and regulations against trade fraud, as well as to protect the consumer and preserve the rights of producers.
The forum will be held under the theme “Commerce, Partnership and Investment … Development and Success.” It is targeted at serving as a distinguished professional trade platform that regulates and tackles trade issues and concerns faced by Saudi businessmen, in order to create a favorable global business and investment environment.
“The JCF, to be held under the sponsorship of Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, will strive to modernize and put into practice flexible and streamlined business regulations and procedures and to improve the efficiency of the services provided, so as to present to the Saudi business community a model business environment,” the JCCI said. Concurrently with the forum, an exhibition displaying artificial goods and genuine ones will be held to enlighten the public about commercial fraud.
“Many consumer goods and products lack quality as a result of imitation. The artificial goods are intricately manufactured and are sold at cheap prices in order to lure consumers,” the statement said. It particularly referred to medicines, skin care products, and car spare parts among others.
JCCI chairman Sheikh Saleh Kamel said more than 600 traders and businessmen will attend the forum, which highlights the role of the chambers of commerce in supporting the economic stability of the country through augmenting ties between the public and private sectors.
He said the forum would focus on the rights and duties in trade transactions vis-à-vis legislative laws and government regulations.
