“I was surprised by the number of students who showed up for the protest, many of them are angry for failing the exam,” said Sara, a student at the university. “I was one of the students who failed the exam and I showed up to ask the teacher to show me my paper when I saw the massive crowd asking for the same thing.”
Many of the students said the exam was hard.
“English exams should be easy because most of us studied in public schools and our English is really poor. We want the university to give us another chance,” said Hessa. "I believe we need extensive English courses just to be able to pass the first level of English."
According to another student, Shomoukh, the students were waving their English books.
“The students gathered between buildings 4 and 5, and almost everyone was holding their English book and paper saying in one voice that they want justice,” she said.  “I heard that the dean of the university said she would punish the students who failed the exam by starting them from zero on all subjects, stating this would be a lesson for them and for everyone."
Princess Noura University is considered the world’s largest women-only campuses. The capacity of the university is around 26,000 students.
Arab News tried to reach the university for a comment, but there was no response.
