Rollins' last gasp hit lifts Phillies over Marlins

The Phillies fell behind 3-0, but their bats came alive
late.
Shane Victorino extended his hitting streak to 14 games
when he led off the eighth with a homer to tie the game 3-3. Pete Orr entered
the game in the seventh and had two doubles for Philadelphia.
Dane Sardinha singled in the ninth off Leo Nunez (0-1),
then took third on a double by Orr. Both scored on the single by Rollins.
In Atlanta, Ian
Desmond hit a tiebreaking, two-run double in the 11th and Jayson Werth followed
with a two-run homer as Washington beat Atlanta.
Alex Cora had driven in two runs with a bases-loaded
single in the ninth as Braves closer Craig Kimbrel blew a 3-1 lead.
Drew Storen (3-1) pitched the 10th and Tyler Clippard
took over in the 11th for his first save as the Nationals improved to 5-1 in
extra-innings games. Scott Linebrink (0-1) took the loss.
In Chicago, the hosts delivered
their biggest offensive output of the season to beat St. Louis.
Chicago scored six runs in the third after a 53-minute rain
delay, added four more in the fifth and finished with 17 hits, four by Starlin
Castro.
The Cardinals are 1-1 without manager Tony La Russa, who
missed his second straight game as he recovers from shingles. He'll be absent
for the remainder of St. Louis' six-game road trip that ends Sunday in
Cincinnati.
Cubs starter Matt Garza (2-4) got his first win at
Wrigley Field, allowing one run in five innings. St. Louis starter Jake
Westbrook (2-3) took the loss.
In Pittsburgh, Hiroki Kuroda
pitched seven scoreless innings to steer Los Angeles past Pittsburgh.
Kuroda (4-3) struck out eight as the Dodgers won
back-to-back games for the first time in three weeks.
Los Angeles scored its first run against Paul Maholm
(1-5) on a double-play grounder in the sixth. Jerry Sands added an RBI double.
Vicente Padilla gave up a two-out double in the ninth
before finishing for his third save.
  In San Francisco, the home team came from three runs down to
edge Arizona.
Aubrey Huff hit a tying home run for the Giants, who
moved four games over .500 for the first time this season.
Miguel Tejada hit a run-scoring single and then doubled
with one out in the sixth to chase Diamondbacks starter Armando Galarraga
(3-3).
He scored on Andre Torres' double to give San Francisco a
season-high fifth straight win.
Jonathan Sanchez (3-2) allowed three runs in six innings.
Brian Wilson pitched out of jam in the ninth for his 12th
save. He gave up a leadoff double, then a walk before Torres caught a flyball
against the center field wall for the final out.
 
In Houston, Hunter Pence hit a tiebreaking double in the ninth inning as
Houston avoided a series sweep with a win over Cincinnati.
Mike Leake (3-2) walked J.R. Towles with one out in the
ninth before Pence's full-count hit landed in the corner of right field and
sent Towles home.
The Astros had led 3-1 before the Reds tied it with
consecutive homers in the seventh inning.
Mark Melancon (3-1) picked up the win in relief.
  In Milwaukee, San Diego squandered an early lead but
recovered in style with an eight-run eighth inning to sink Milwaukee.
Chris Denorfia led off the game with a homer and San
Diego built an early 5-0 lead, but Milwaukee rallied with Prince Fielder's
200th career homer and went ahead 6-5.
Then in the eighth. Jason Bartlett tied it with a single
and Cameron Maybin doubled down the line with the bases loaded for the go-ahead
run. Ryan Ludwick followed with a two-run shot that made it 11-6, and the
Padres kept rolling from there.
San Diego racked up a season-high 23 hits after coming in
hitting a majors-worst .219.
Chad Qualls (2-2) pitched 1 1-3 innings of relief,
including getting out of a bases-loaded jam trailing 6-5 in the sixth. Kameron
Loe (2-4) took the loss.
