Properties of PMB improve the current bituminous mixtures with blends of additives, paving the way for more durable roads in the Kingdom, which widely uses asphalt highways.
Ibrahim Al Badawi, chairman of Saudi Bitucorp, said the growing demand for PMB led the company to sign an agreement with Sinopec.  “Under this agreement, we will establish a joint venture project; namely, Sanad Plant for Modified Bitumen Products Co. Ltd,” he said.
The joint venture will cater to the growing demand for modified bitumen, said S. H. Farooq, managing director of Sanad Plant.
Ling Yiqun, vice president of Sinopec Corp, is expected in the Kingdom in October 2011, to mark the launch of operations in Saudi Arabia.
