The Saudi woman complained to police that after she lost her handbag at a shopping mall in the city recently a stranger started calling her saying that he would return her bag if she paid a big amount. The police laid out a plan for a sting operation and asked the woman to arrange a meeting with the blackmailer at a previously fixed place.
The unsuspecting man arrived at the location with the stolen items and was promptly arrested. After the completion of investigations, police will hand over the man to Prosecution and Investigation Commission, Eastern Province police spokesman Lt. Col.Ziyad Al-Raqaity said.
