Reyes had four of New York’s season-high 17 hits, and Jonathon Niese (4-5) didn’t allow an earned run against a makeshift Phillies lineup. Daniel Murphy matched a career high with three hits.
The Mets, held to three runs or fewer in nine of their previous 11 games, tied their season high for runs and prevented a three-game sweep. Reyes equaled a career high with his sixth straight multihit game, the longest active streak in the majors.
New York tagged an ineffective Vance Worley (2-1) for 12 hits in three innings, sending the rookie to his first loss in four major league starts this season.
Brewers 6 Giants 0: In Milwaukee, Gallardo allowed four hits in eight innings to win his fifth straight start, and Milwaukee topped San Francisco to wrap up an 8-1 homestand.
Gallardo (7-2) retired 14 in a row before allowing a single to Aubrey Huff in the seventh. San Francisco didn’t have a runner in scoring position until two outs in the eighth.
Milwaukee took a 2-0 lead off Matt Cain (3-4) in the first innings on singles by Ryan Braun and Casey McGehee. Prince Fielder drove in a run in the third, and Rickie Weeks added a two-out, two-run double in the sixth.
The Brewers are an NL-best and franchise-record 21-7 at home.
Padres 5 Nationals 4: In Washington, Ryan Ludwick had three hits and two RBIs, including a go-ahead infield single in the ninth inning, Brad Hawpe had two hits and two RBIs, and San Diego beat Washington.
Pinch-hitter Jorge Cantu broke an 0-for-13 slump with a double to right off Drew Storen (4-2). With two outs, Ludwick grounded a ball up the middle that bounced off shortstop Ian Desmond’s glove for a hit. Cantu barely beat Desmond’s throw home.
It was the first time San Diego scored more than three runs in 11 games, and gave them a series win over Washington.
Diamondbacks 4 Astros 2: In Houston, Xavier Nady hit a two-run double in the eighth inning, helping Arizona rally for a victory and a series sweep of Houston.
Arizona has won six straight road games and 14 of 16 overall. Nady’s go-ahead double off Jeff Fulchino (1-3) gave the Diamondbacks their first lead. Juan Miranda followed with an RBI single for a two-run cushion.
Cardinals 4 Rockies 3: In Denver, Kyle Lohse pitched six solid innings to match a major league high with his seventh win and Jon Jay hit a two-run homer, helping St. Louis hold off Colorado.
Colby Rasmus added a solo shot, and Yadier Molina had a run-scoring single for the Cardinals, who went 6-3 on their road trip.
The Rockies struggled to get anything going early against Lohse (7-2) a night after scoring a season-high 15 runs. The righty scattered six hits and struck out six before running out of steam in the seventh.
Dodgers 8 Marlins 0: In Los Angeles, Clayton Kershaw pitched a two-hitter for his second shutout and complete game in the majors, Rafael Furcal hit his first home run of the season and drove in three runs, and Los Angeles routed Florida.
Kershaw (6-3) struck out 10 and walked one and was supported by the Dodgers’ season-high 17 hits. Florida’s only hits off the 23-year-old left-hander were a leadoff single in the second by Omar Infante and a wind-blown double by Logan Morrison leading off the seventh.
Kershaw was also 2 for 4 with an RBI.
Hanley Ramirez, the Marlins’ three-time All-Star shortstop, was removed from the game midway through the second inning because of stiffness in his lower back.
Ricky Nolasco (4-1) surrendered eight runs and 15 hits over five innings.
Cubs 3 Pirates 2: In Chicago, Aramis Ramirez ended a long home run drought, Ryan Dempster threw six solid innings and Chicago beat Pittsburgh in a game delayed by rain at the start.
Ramirez’s solo shot in the second inning broke a streak of 155 at-bats without a home run, the second longest stretch of his career. Ramirez went 170 at-bats between homers from Aug. 2, 1998, until April 21, 2000.
Dempster (4-4) recovered from a poor start to post his fifth quality start in six outings. After allowing two runs, a walk and Lyle Overbay’s two-run double in the first inning, Dempster settled down to shut out the Pirates on four hits over the next five innings.
Braves 2 Reds 1: In Atlanta, Jair Jurrjens (7-1) outpitched Johnny Cueto (2-2), Martin Prado hit a two-run homer and the Atlanta Braves beat Cincinnati, putting an end to the Reds’ damaging road trip.
Prado also helped on defense by throwing out Paul Janish at the plate in the eighth inning to protect the lead. Janish tried to score from second base on Brandon Phillips’ single to left field.
The Reds lost two of three to the Braves to complete a 2-8 road trip.
