“We will exceed that target to reach 910,000 to 920,000 bpd on average this year, exceeding our initial prediction because bigger fields like Al Mukhaizna are pumping more crude,” an official at the ministry of oil and gas said.
Oman said earlier this year that it had based its 2011 fiscal budget on average crude oil production of 870,000 barrels per day.
Oman’s output in the first four months of this year was recorded at an average of 883,100 bpd, according to the official figures from the finance ministry.
Oman sold its oil at an average price of $91.36 per barrel in the first four months of 2011.
The 2011 state budget was based on an estimated price of crude of $60 per barrel.
Last week, the finance ministry said the sultanate expected to settle its deficit of 850 million rials despite spending more money to satisfy protesters demands.
The ministry also forecast expenditure of 7.28 billion rials for 2011, versus a forecast of 6.38 billion rials in revenues for the current year.
