Resident detained for passing off forged check

“The incident goes back to when the perpetrator handed a check to the victim worth SR250,000 as payment for an outstanding loan,” said Jeddah police spokesman Brig. Misfer Al-Juaid.
However, when the lender went to cash the check he learned there the check was a forgery.
Juaid said the victim, a 30-year-old Jeddah resident, took the forged check to the police station, where he filed a complaint and got the check inspected. Police confirmed that the check was in fact forged.
"An arrest was made and the suspect admitted to forging the check and giving to the victim toward repayment of a loan," said Juaid.
