The countess is the first member of the British royal family to visit the Kingdom. She traveled across the desert and into Riyadh recording her journey in photographs. The rare photographs are now under the possession of the KAPL. Saudi Ambassador to UK Prince Muhammad bin Nawaf will open the exhibition at the Royal Geographical Society on Tuesday. The exhibition will end on Aug.21.
"The exhibition will showcase 50 rare photos taken by Princes Alice during her visits to different regions in Saudi Arabia including Jeddah, Taif, Riyadh and lastly Al-Ahsa, Alkhobar and other parts of the Eastern Province," said General Supervisor of the library Faisal bin Abdul Rahman Muammar in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency on Friday. The princess also visited Founder of the Kingdom King Abdul Aziz. During her visit to Jeddah, she stayed in at the Al-Kandarah Palace, visited Wadi Fatimah and King Abdul Aziz Palace. The collection also has a number photos of King Abdul Aziz with his sons. The photos also include the princess standing near camel, Mosques in Taif, scenes of the hill station Al-Hada and Al-Muwaih Fort. There are also photos in which the princess appears in Saudi dress.
