The new MacBook Air, which was going on sale on Wednesday starting at $999, has the latest generation of Intel Core i5 and i7 processors and the operating system Lion, in addition to other features.
The Mac mini prices at $599 and delivers up to twice the processor and graphics performance of the previous generation, the company said.
On Tuesday, Apple reported higher-than-expected earnings and revenue boosted by strong sales of its iPhone and iPad tablet computers.
