During the meeting at Al-Safa Palace, Karzai decorated the king with Afghanistan's top medal. "I am very happy to confer on your majesty this prestigious medal," the president said.
King Abdullah thanked Karzai for the gesture. The meeting was attended by Afghanistan's Foreign Minister Zalmay Rasoul and other senior officials.
Last year, King Abdullah conferred on Karzai King Abdul Aziz Medal of the First Order, the Kingdom's top medal.
