Dubai foils bid to smuggle 2.5kg of heroin hidden in guts

Three passengers from different countries were arrested. Dubai Customs official Ali Al Mugahwi said the quantity of the heroin was over 2.5kg in 219 capsules, 83 of which were detected in an Asian passenger, 86 in another Asian flier while 50 were seized from an African woman. One Asian passenger was caught during a routine baggage search. As an inspector noticed his frisky behavior, he was scanned. Some murky items were found inside his gut. Further examination revealed hidden 83 capsules stuffed with heroin weighing 835 grams. The second Asian admitted following a body scan that he had swallowed drug-stuffed capsules. Eighty-six capsules weighing 879 grams were recovered from him. The African woman was also caught after a scan.
