52 Kurds detained in Turkey: State media

TRT television says police on Saturday raided several homes and offices of the pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party in the towns of Sirnak and Cizre, close to the Iraqi border.
Dogan news agency says a group of Kurds clashed with police in Cizre but there were no reports of casualties.
Kurdish rebels have been fighting for autonomy in Turkey’s mainly Kurdish southeast since 1984.
Turkish warplanes bombed suspected rebel hideouts in northern Iraq last month in response to an escalation of attacks by the guerrillas. Turkey has not ruled out a cross-border offensive against Kurdish rebel bases in northern Iraq.
