The report, which was presented to the governor by Col. Dhafir Al-Qarni, said the department confiscated 72,959 narcotic tablets, 7,656 kg of hashish and 177 kg of qat.
“Hashish busts in Najran accounts for 36.16 percent of the total hashish seized in various parts of the country,’ said the report.
A total of 33,975 drug smuggling and trafficking cases were reported across the Kingdom last year with 43,871 people.
In a Kingdomwide drug bust last year, police confiscated 5.18 million narcotic pills, 21,167 kg of hashish, 55 kg of heroin, and 373,860 kg of qat.
