Danube opens melamine factory in Jeddah

The opening of the new melamine factory is part of Danube’s strategic move to expand their presence in the Kingdom. The new 10,000 square feet factory is equipped with the latest assembly and production machines that have been imported from China.
The new facility has a total production capacity of 5,800 sheets per day.
The Danube Al-Khaleejiah Building Material Factory will produce melamine sheets, raw MDF sheets and finished MEL MDF sheets.
In addition, the new plant has a daily storage capacity of 80,000 melamine sheets in 18-degree temperature; 10,000 raw MDF sheets and 10,000 finished MEL MDF sheets.
“We extend our congratulations to the Danube group on the opening of their new melamine factory here in Saudi Arabia,” said Khalid Abdulrahman Al-Waris, chairman of the Municipality of Um Salam, Jeddah.
“We are confident that this new facility will be able to produce world class melamine based products to meet the growing demand in today’s construction market,” he said.
He said the factory will creare more job opportunities and play a major part in the economic development of the municipality.
The chairman opened the factory in the presence of M. P. Thamimul Hussain, group general manager, Danube, and other key officials and representatives from Danube’s partner companies.
Danube currently maintains two building materials showrooms in Saudi Arabia.
“The opening of our new melamine plant in Saudi Arabia comes at a very strategic time, as industry reports have shown an influx of major projects across key areas,” said Rizwan Sajan, founder & chairman, Danube Building Materials.
“These projects will ultimately stir in a demand for melamine based products and we are confident to meet this,” he added.
“Also, our new facility demonstrates our initiatives toward strengthening our presence in the country and live up to our name of providing our customers with world class and high quality building materials. Aside from the new plant, we look forward to opening more building materials retail showrooms across the Kingdom.”
