Two months ago a court blocked plans to move the killer whale, called Morgan, after an appeal by an animal rights coalition that drew up a plan to gradually reintroduce her to the wild.
The Harderwijk Dolphinarium where she has been kept had sought to transfer her to Loro Parque on the island of Tenerife.
The Dutch court ordered a review of the government’s export permit for Morgan, thought to be about 4 years old.
After hearing arguments, Agriculture Secretary Henk Bleker ruled Wednesday that Morgan’s chances of survival in the wild were too small and approved the transfer.
