China tells Iran to show flexibility and sincerity

Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei told reporters Tuesday that China also was firmly opposed to any use of force against Iran to prevent it from acquiring an atomic weapon. Dialogue and cooperation between the parties involved remains the best way of finding a long-term, comprehensive resolution to tensions over Iran’s nuclear program, Hong told reporters at a daily news briefing on Tuesday.
China is Iran’s biggest trading partner but has supported UN sanctions aimed at pressuring the government to suspend enrichment and start negotiations on its nuclear program — which it has refused to do.
