The official was addressing the academic staff of the university and parents of disabled people in Jazan province Saturday during the celebration of International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD) at the university grand hall.
"The governmental sectors here consider the special needs of people as one of the most important elements of Saudi development," Al-Hayazie added.
The celebration included a drama organized and played by the special needs students of the university, who expressed their feelings toward the helpful community. In addition, a documentary about the medical and social services the government of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah provides was shown in order to share with the attendees the national development.
Mohammad Al-Habebi, undersecretary of students' affairs, monitored the symposium “International Day of Disability,” which was organized on the sideline of the celebration.
Two Saudi researchers of disability affairs, Sami Al-Zahrani and Sami Al-Ghamdi, participated actively in the symposium and widely discussed the ways of improving the performance and skills of disabled people as well as how to guide them to implement positive roles toward themselves, society and the country.
