Abdul Rahman bin Afif, 45, disappeared over 10 days ago, his brother Omar told the police. He said his brother was peaceful and would never cause any harm to himself or others.
“My brother started showing signs of a psychological illness about 20 years ago when he graduated from high school. We took him to a number of psychiatric hospitals and the doctors were unanimous in their diagnosis that he was suffering from acute depression,” Omar said.
He said his brother was living with their mother and used to go out twice a day and always come back. “About 10 days ago Abdul Rahman went out as usual, but he never came back. My mother is very much worried about him and does not stop crying,” he said.
Spokesman for Makkah police Lt. Col. Abdul Mohsen Al-Miman said police were searching for the missing brother and that descriptions and photos were circulated among police posts in various regions of the Kingdom.
The brother appealed to the public to keep an eye out for him and urged anyone with information to contact Al-Mansour police station or call him on his mobile: 0546968310.
