According to Ahmed bin Nasser Al-Suwaidan, the company's managing director and vice chairman of the board, this order is one of a series of agreements that Electrical Industries has finalized with the region's utilities for products manufactured by its subsidiary Saudi Transformers Company.
"Over the past two decades Saudi Transformers Company has established itself as a leading Gulf-based manufacturer of transformer and substations. Our manufacturing and quality standards are comparable with any leading international brand, and we've proved time and time again that Saudi Transformers Company can deliver the best quality at the right price to utilities and electricity providers across the region," said Al-Suwaidan.
"We've already begun manufacturing this order for transformers on behalf of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity and Water at our factory in Dammam. We will begin supplying the first transformers by February 2012 and we expect to complete the order by the end of 2012," added Al-Suwaidan.
"We're delighted that the Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity and Water has chosen Electric Industries to supply them with such a large order of transformers. To us this is proof that Saudi-based manufacturers such as ourselves can produce electrical products at a high quality to serve the needs of the Gulf's utility providers," he said.
Saudi Transformers Company is an approved supplier of Saudi Electricity Company, Saudi Aramco and all utilities in the region. It has also supplied transformers and substations to Bahrain's Electricity and Water Authority; Abu Dhabi's Water & Electricity Authority as well as private contractors in and outside the Kingdom.
