1.8m children congratulate King Abdullah

She said King Abdullah was awarded the prize in appreciation of his humanitarian role and his unique position among the peoples and countries of the region.
Saudi Ambassador to Cairo, Ahmed Kattan received the award on behalf of the king at a special function held by the Arab League last week.
"The children of the Arab world have awarded the prize to King Abdullah in appreciation of his support to the children not only in the Arab countries but in the entire world," she said.
Harasani said King Abdullah's paternal care also extended to non-Muslim countries supporting them with humanitarian and financial assistance.
She said King Abdullah was chosen out of three Arab leaders who were outstanding in their support of the children.
Harasani said 1.832 million children participated in the survey to choose the winner of the prize between three contestants and revealed that 1.264 million male and female children have voted for King Abdullah.
