He made this statement during a meeting with Social Affairs Minister Yousuf Al-Othaimeen. Representatives from the Social Affairs and Labor Ministries and the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Makkah, Jeddah and Taif would attend the workshop.
The minister earlier signed an agreement with Umm Al-Qura University’s Community College to accept a number of students from poor families, who are beneficiaries of the social insurance scheme and other charitable organizations.
In a statement after the signing ceremony, Al-Othaimeen said the ministry, representing the Charitable Social Fund, had signed similar agreements with other universities and private companies to support students from poor families to get education and jobs.
“We want to enlighten this group in the Saudi society about the importance of university education to improve their condition,” Al-Othaimeen said.
