Penguins have scored only six goals in the skid.
Chimera gave Washington the only offense it needed at 15:25,
finishing a 3-on-1 rush right in front of goalie Marc-Andre Fleury’s net. The
Capitals have won seven of eight at home.
Pittsburgh, which had injured captain Sidney Crosby watching
from the press box, is on its longest skid since a 10-game drought in 2006.
Washington had lost two in a row, both on the road, by a combined score of 10-4.
DEVILS 2, OILERS 1, OT: In Edmonton, Alberta, Zach Parise
scored a power-play goal 1:06 into overtime, and New Jersey beat Edmonton for
its third win in four games. Parise took a feed from Patrik Elias and snapped a
shot into a wide-open net behind goalie Nikolai Khabibulin.
Ilya Kovalchuk scored a short-handed goal in the second
period and added an assist on Parise’s winner for the Devils (24-17-2), who
jumped over Toronto into sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
Ales Hemsky scored for the Oilers (16-22-4), who are falling
deeper out of contention in the West. Edmonton has lost four straight and 11 of
