Scotland Yard says that around 150 people had gathered for a demonstration outside the embassy around 1 a.m. GMT Saturday (8 p.m. EST Friday).
The protest came amid reports that Syrian forces unleashed a barrage of mortars and artillery on the battered city of Homs on Saturday, killing more than 200 people.
The protests in London echoed similar scenes in Cairo and Kuwait, where demonstrators also stormed Syrian embassies in solidarity with the Syrian uprising.
Scotland Yard said five men were arrested for forcing entry into the London premises, while a sixth was arrested for assaulting police. Scotland Yard said all six remain in custody.
