This is more than the average amounts spent by tourists from China and Japan, he added.
Jorg Krebs, director for India, Middle East and Africa at Switzerland Tourism, made these remarks at a press conference here.
Hans Stalder, consul general of Switzerland, said it was now easier for Saudi nationals to obtain visas to visit his country.
According to him, Schengen visa applications from males were now processed in three days. For women and children, the visa is issued in one day and diplomats could get it on the same day.
The consul general said Saudi nationals mainly invested in the hotel industry.
Most Saudi nationals like to spend Ramadan with their families in the Kingdom, he pointed out.
The tourism director added that inflows from Britain, France, Italy and Germany had dropped because of the European economic crisis.
GCC countries, China, India and Brazil are key markets that are being targeted now, he said.
The number of Saudi nationals heading to Switzerland has increased by 50 percent during the past 10 years, said Krebs.
The GCC is a vibrant market because its population is dominated by youth, he said.
A press release added that Switzerland Tourism had recorded phenomenal growth, despite global recession, especially after Switzerland became part of the Schengen Agreement. A traveler, who gets a Schengen visa, can move to Switzerland without having to obtain an extra visa extra to enter Switzerland.
To ensure high standards of comfort for travelers, Switzerland Tourism's website was launched to assist the reservation through a database of more than 13,000 hotels, apartments and train tickets.
There are significant offers for families and children as well as couples who want to spend their honeymoon in various Swiss destinations.
According to statistics, published by Switzerland Tourism, the Kingdom occupies the first rank among GCC countries.
These statistics indicated that, in addition to the increase in the number of Gulf tourists, Gulf citizens generally spend 530 Swiss francs per day.
GCC citizens occupy the first position in terms of the amount of daily expenditure compared with the global average, according to the press release.
