Davis shot probably his best-ever round at Dirab, a 1-over 73, to deny last year’s winner, taekwondo master M. S. Kim, a potential back-to-back victories in the tournament that started exclusively for Pakistanis but was made open to all since 2010.
Davis enjoyed a tidy round (37-36) that included consecutive birdies from No. 12 against two bogeys on the back nine. Davis bogeyed the eighth and parred the rest of the holes going out.
Kim settled for second place in First Division (handicap 0-9) behind winner Filipino Eric Liquigan, who had a net score of 73 to Kim’s 74. Saudi national team player Fahad Almansour, with a 3 handicap like Liquigan, took third place on 75 with 9-handicap Finlay Graham in fourth position on 78.

Nagaya put together nines of 42-46, mixing six pars, eight bogeys and four double bogeys.
The Pakistani pair of Shakeel Syed and Syed Shafiq won the Second Division (10-18) and Third Division (19-28) after shooting 71 and 70 in benign conditions.
