The host team won the match by 5-1 with the visiting club avoiding a shutout when Andy Cliffe defeated Bandar Al-Ghubain 4 and 3 in the match play format competition.
The rest of the singles matches ended in lopsided results in favor of SGBS. Bouchaib El Jadiani set the tone of the day’s proceedings when he beat the Najrani team captain Clark Windross 2 and 1.
SGBS team captain Fahad Almansour then brought down Trev 3 and 2. Abdullah Hussain, Faisal Salhab and Turki Hussain continued the streak for the hosts before Cliffe posted the lone win for NGC.
Abdullah won 4 and 3 against Dene Ashcroft; the long-hitting Salhab, who teamed with Abdulrahman Almansour to give Saudi Arabia the junior division title in the GCC Golf Championship held recently in the UAE, whipped Steve Formby 4 and 3, while Turki brought down Paul Redmond 3 and 2.
Select members of Saudi Business Golf society and Najrani Golf Club teed off at hole No. 1 in various schedules which started at 1:44 p.m. for this dual tournament.
The weather was partly cloudy but it did not stop the participants from playing their best. In the awards ceremony, Almansour thanked the participants and Dirab Golf & Country Club for hosting the event. For his part, Windross thanked the same and hopes this would be a yearly event in the future.
The winning team received a trophy. The two teams also exchanged mementos with each other.
According to Almansour SGBS was formed only last month. Among its goals are to promote golf among youngsters in Saudi Arabia, support charity projects and build business links through golf. Abdullah Al-Masoud heads the group with Riyadh Aboabat and Almansour as founding core members.

Meantime, all is set for the Saudi Hollandi Bank Open Golf Tournament on Friday.
Over a hundred players are expected to turn out for the 7:30 a.m shotgun start to the 18-hole individual stroke play competition.
DGCC Golf Manager Jadiani said the event marks the first time Saudi Hollandi Bank is sponsoring a full field tournament at Dirab thanks to Ehab Mohammed Al Dabbagh, general manager Strategic Planning & Program Management of SHB.
In addition to the major prizes at stake each player would receive a goody bag that contains a Greg Norman polo shirt, cap, FJ golf gloves and a sleeve of Titleist ProVI golf balls before the start of play.
