Zain World flagship in Riyadh witnessed an overwhelming response from sports people in general and football fans, in particular, to see the Zain Saudi Football Professional League Cup and take souvenir photos with the cup.
This cup will be awarded to the winning team middle of this month. The company said the same cup was on display at its main store in Riyadh the past two days.
The main branch of Zain World in Jeddah on Tahlia Street gets the chance to have the cup on display today and tomorrow.
The company explained it wanted to involve football fans in this event and give the opportunity to as many spectators as possible to watch the League Cup very closely, saying it has all the capabilities to receive sports fans.
Also, Zain has held a number of events and contests with prizes for the Cup-viewers in Riyadh, and the same will be made available in Jeddah today and tomorrow. However, the company has invited sports fans to follow the developments of this event through the official social networking sites of the company (Facebook and Twitter).
About the basic specifications of the trophy, the company said that it weighs 12.5 kg, and is made of silver and copper (92.5% silver and 7.5% copper) and is called the sterling silver. It consists of two main parts: the upper part which is made entirely of alloy silver, copper, and sterling silver with handles plated partially with gold.
The trophy contains 14 gold plated balls representing the professional league clubs, in addition to a big ball at the top of the cup that represents the Saudi Professional League, while the lower part of the cup is made of two layers of green malachite with a silver alloy between them; and the name of the champion will be engraved on this alloy every year, and also carry a golden slogan of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation.
