Andreas Hergenrother, delegate of German Industry and Commerce for Saudi Arabia, was impressed by the composition of the Saudi group, which utilized the trip to explore the latest developments and trends in the areas of health care IT.
“For the first time, a Saudi delegation participated in the conhIT. That illustrates the efforts Saudi companies invest in the sector of health care, and especially e-Health. I am very delighted to see a high interest to visit the industrial fair in Berlin,” he said.
The delegation was welcomed by Ursula Baumann, Director of conhIT, followed by a presentation about the German health care sector by the Vice President of the Vivantes Medical Care, Nizaar Marouf. In the afternoon, the Saudi visitors participated in a guided tour over the fair ground with focus on telemedicine and e-Health. The Berlin Chamber of Industry and Commerce organized a roundtable discussion and B2B meetings on the subsequent day.
Finally, the delegation visited one of the largest university hospitals in Europe, the reputable Berlin hospital Charite. Bernhard Calmer, head of marketing Healthcare Germany and chairman of the German Association of the Healthcare IT Industry (VHitG) accompanied the group to the Siemens booth.
